Can someone post a website with very good ad placement?

I'm on the final stages of developing my site, next step is ad placement, where are the best locations for an ad? what sizes work best?

Can someone post a site as an example?

I know theres a lot of trial and error, testing different ads and different positions but if I could get a better idea that would be great. Thanks in advance, everyone here has been more then helpful!

maybe a content site and not a forum? my site is loaded with content so ad placement would be different then a forum.

    Hi Kevinn,

I've recently changed my ad placement from right to left hand side of the page and noticed a considerable difference in terms of revenue.

I don't know if that's the answer you're looking for but it worked for me

I disagree. Any site that makes me scroll inside the site turns me off and makes me move on.

    I'm assuming it's your site.

there are many adsense sites around here but just expirement a little bit and see how it will work out. having ads in the middle or no the left side is the best way to attract visitors. just check the heatmap and do some experiments as already said. :D :D

Go to the Adsense help section:

    https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html

Under "Savvy ad placement" they have "heat maps" for blogs and regular sites.

there is no single perfect ad placement. it all varies with the site. but some good placements are
    large rectangle in the top.
adlink on the top which looks like site menu.
leaderboard on the bottom of the site or half banner for pages with less content.

    good luck with your experiments
