hey guys im new to Commission Junction, I just bought BANS and am having trouble working out how the CJ statistics works... Im obviously using the ebya affiliate but can someone define: clicks leads sales Impressions Under normal circumstances I think I know what they are but I have had 32 clicks and no impressions I thought it would have been the other way around.. so if someone can explain how CJ stats work that would be great.. thanks Tom
Ebay works a little differently compared to the other merchants. Impressions are only available if you're pulling a image to 'track' those impressions, obviously with BANS or any eBay store front, your pulling images directly from ebay and they do NOT track that with CJ. clicks - clicks are recorded when a user clicks on a link and goes to eBay. A single user can click 10 links from your BANS store and that would show up as 10 clicks in stats leads - someone went to eBay from your BANS site and registered. This won't get you the $25 until they win a auction (not sure if the $25 counts on winning auction vs bid on a auction) sales - when someone wins a auction. You will now get commissions based off of this item Impressions - normally, other merchants would include a 1x1 pixel to track impressions of a product or link. If you really want to get this, then add a eBay banner from CJ to your BANS store, then you'll start seeing impressions for eBay. Hope this helps hanji
thankyou so much. that really explained it all -and so simply! so 32 clicks should at least be a couple of different people, I hope they buy something and I get my first CJ commission!!
If you want to track impressions, you can use one of the eBay banners from CJ, every time the image is loaded it will count the impressions. I use an eBay skyscraper banner in my BANS instead of AdSense and have gotten some signups from it too.
Yep.. sounds like you're on your way! Getting clicks is the key.. so focus on getting more and more. hanji
Correct. I only use the eBay banner technique on a few of my sites.. the rest, I just rely on Google Analytics. hanji
