Can someone help me with these domain details.

    Hi,

There is a domain I am interested in purchasing, which is currently unused and on whois it comes up with the following information.

I'm struggling to find out what the above information means as it seems contradictor - IE it has 3 different statuses, and it also says pending delete, but the expiration date says 2010!

Can someone advise me actually what is going on here - is the name likely to get dropped/deleted in the next few weeks?

If it is then I don't want to contact the seller and have to pay a rediculous price for something I could get for free in a few weeks.

    Thanks

    Hi

The domain seems like it is pending renewal.

This means that the Buyer had purchased the domain and had a PayPal Subscription,

The subscription is now trying to take the money out of his account "AUTORENEWPERIOD' but it may not be working and if it is not re-newed soon it will be available for anybody who desires to register the domain.

    Good luck!

After the domain expires, it is not really dropped the same instance. You'll have to wait atleast for 1 month and about another 15 days while the process goes on.

The original buyer gets grace of about 20 days and then it is put up for back ordering. If nothing goes on with them, then you have a chance to get them. ;)

This is the reason you can't get it as soon as it is passed the renewal date.

The domain name is in deletion period. Deletion period comes after expiry period. Owner of domain name can restore his domain name by paying a amount (generally is 5-6 times more than normal renewal price).

After deletion period, domain name will be available for new registration.

    Ok thanks,

Does anyone have an idea when the domain will fully drop given its dates and status?

Also what is the best service for trying to pick up dropped domains?

    Thanks

I think you need to check if that domain name have web site there and if that web site is working or not?

Give it 2 months the least. If you want to pick up before it is dropped, then back order it during the deletion time and it is all yours.

You mean I could get this domain now by back ordering? If so, can you point me in the right direction on how to do it.

    Thanks

You could possibly do the back ordering now.

Have a look through name.com - Mostly because i have been with them from much time and they seem to be really nice with me :)

There are multiple providers for back order. name.com is already suggested, godaddy.com offers similar services and typically if you check with any registrar the process remains identical - you pay a fees upfront, they place your request in queue and on the day of deletion - a bidding process would decide the winner. sometimes you may have to pay a lot more than the normal fees thanks to the bidding process * which is not very transparent!

Thanks - so I don't get it any quicker than if I just keep checking it manually to see if its dropped then (Other than a few hours if i check twice a day)? - Its not going to be a particularly popular domain anyway, so I doubt anyone else would be after it - Its also never had a website or PR on it.
