well, just make a site according to your passion. what ever your passion as long as it doesn't violate the adsense TOS

Yep, do something you like (see my signature :D ), when you do something you like you will be more likely to update that site. (good) content (usually)= $

Before you start any websites I suggest you get some marketing ebooks or even read on the forums (a lot to learn from them) Get comfortable with the system then start a website.

Create a site on something you enjoy or know a lot about. Learn something new each day, experiment, etc. Getting traffic is the hard part, getting people to click the ads is easy.

I believe many people disagree with my opinion..
from my experience, techies (programmers, IT developers, etc) don't click ads..
hopefully, your softwares aren't for techies..
I have a website about java & .net tips & tricks once..
it didn't give me many clicks, though it attracts many visitors.. :(

tarkus: Why do you keep asking the same question in different threads? I've already answered this question for you in at least two other threads. Go back and read them. In short: your graphics and techy ideas are not the best for making Adsense money.

alright, i just thought that since stackman mentioned it wasnt a good topic for adsense, then i wanted to ask what was, (the point of this thread) and people said anything you are interested in, so i though that my original idea would be good then. but turns out that it isnt, so not everything is good for adsense.

so before i think of my next idea i want to keep in mind that it cant be too a topic that would apeal to techys etc. the question i should have asked is: are there any other things i should keep in mind besides this?

thanks guys, sorry for the confusion stackman.

If you find a "high-paying" keyword on these forums, i can guarantee that there is already a billion sites like the one you are going to create.

Make a site about something which you will be able to add content to every day.

IMO its better getting few, but intereseted ppl, to a high quality and unique content site, than getting visitors at random. Make your site special, and you wont be totaly lost ;)

Definately go with something you are passionate about - much more likely to put the hours in and update it reguarly and make it the best it can be. Other than that probably try to find areas that don't have much competition but may do soon..get in there early!
I wouldn't reccommend marketing / Adsense eBooks though! especially not if you have to pay, basically just a waste of time...just like spam...I think you should just read through this forum...gather a knowldge on SEO and how to gain traffic...decide weather you're gna start a site from scratch or use some sort of auto builder perhaps a PHP tool like Joomla...get a webhost (I recommend HostGator!)
Get an Adsense account...and away to go! there's just so much to learn as I am doing everyday experience is the best factor and learning from your own is the best way.
By the way if you wan't me to design and build your site (I have good Photoshop CS2 skills and Image ready skills) so you can readily build and simply upload it via FTP just add my msn :

by the way the '0' is a zero not an 'o' thanks, hope i've been of some help.
