The transfer should be fairly simple but there are steps that you can take minimize downtime for your users.

    1. Clone your current database and transfer all information to your new database. It is best to do this action during a slow cycle to reduce the chances of data loss.

    2. Clone your html files and upload to the new hosting service.

    3. Change your current website DNS to the new hosting service.

You should be good to go. I just did this for another website a few days ago and it was fairly easy. Most of the information will reside in the database so just make sure that you clone the tables, change the login/connect creditials in your PHP/ASP, and upload all of the information.

    Hope this helps!

You can ask your new hosting company to do it for you for free.
Just open a ticket with them.

if you have shell /cpanel access with old host make zip file of the files and transfer to new host and unzip to desired locations. for database you can get the backup using cpanel or mysqldump and transfer to new host and import. that's it. normally your new host can do this free of charge so you can contact

How much disk space is your site currently using?

If you still need some one to transfer the site to a new host let me know.

I'm assuming you have a lot of videos, this is going to take you some time to do for the file transferring but for everything else it should be a breeze, also @mentos - not all hosting companies will do this.

I will do it for $150.00 for the first 2 hours, and $25.00 for every additional hour it takes. This is being relatively nice.

Let me know rates are negotiable and I guarantee work.

I use Godaddy to buy my sites and they have a service that they will transfer sites for about $5 I think. It takes a few days to transfer the hosting to them, but they do everything for you.

If you physically have to transfer files from one server to another (and this can take time) you can use an ftp program and do it yourself. you need to have the new site set up with the nameservers pointing to your site and host.

    Hope this helps.
