Can someone help me do some color shifts on a .gif?

I'm using this car part .gif as a replacement for the standard vBulletin reputation buttons.




I suck at photoshop...can someone help me create additional ones in black & red?

Yeah, I'm going to shrink them down a bit too so that should hide some of the graininess (if that is a word). THANKS!

 

Well, they're not shrinking down very well. My guess is I'm starting with a low quality .gif in the first place. Any suggestions to get them down to 22x16 and not look like crap?

Change color mode to RGB then resize (using the "best for reduction" resampler)
