can someone look at my site please and tell me why my ctr is so low

it is http://www.thegettogether.net/ it has alot of daily visitor and is free and always has chatters and new traffic.
i just have a very low ctr, im lucky it i get 3 dollars a day.

 

I dont see huge traffice on your site and secondly try to put your ads on pages those have most hits. Get help from Google analytics for that matter!

 

if they are repeat visitors then for sure the ctr will be low after a few days/weeks.

 

I would try to do only text ads (cancel image ads) - you can do this on the adsense dashboard.

Also - open a log and start changing something with your ads every week (depending on your traffic - a week should be enough) and document your changes, compare the results to your changes and this will help you improve the results for sure.
I would start with major changes at first.

I don't know, this is kinda painful to see, I don't know why I'm seeing a marquee in 2012.
But ok, You shouldn't apply any tricks to adsense, you will get your site banned.

try to put new adsense ad code. It may help you.

 

$3 a day isn't that bad.
It a social network, and not a content based site. CTR tend to be lower on these sites.
