Hi there, I have just made a new blogging website for technology and modern lifestyle content. The plan is to try and turn this blog into a future career for myself. Eventually, I am looking to expand my blog into a YouTube channel as well to keep readers hooked through videos as well. I am also looking to create skill-based courses for people to purchase and learn from. The website is about 1 month old and is currently gaining more and more traffic every single week. If someone could please give me some feedback on the website and also let me know if any of the information helped them in anyway then that would be brilliant. My website is called TechAPic and the website address is - www.techapic.com Thanks for reading this blog post and I would be very happy to answer any questions anyone may have about my website. Best wishes for the future, Harry Blakeley CEO And Founder Of TechAPic.com
Here's just a few bullets of immediate feedback If you have to describe what the web site is about on the main page then it's not easy to figure out what the web site is about. Half way down the page it looks like a corporation or business but it's a blogging site? You spend the entire front page selling the visitor on what the site is about without showing what the site is about. Technical: There's 40+ external CSS and JavaScript files loaded. Yet I can't seem to see their uses based on the basic layout. Just loading in WP plugins? If the web site is a blog then show the damn articles... if there's videos show the damn videos... People will want content immediately. The entire front page is like what you would find on a corporations parent site that's selling a product. You should check out similar blogging sites to get an idea then make it your own. Other than that I like clean simple web sites.
Oh honey, choose a better photo, get your hands out of your pockets and stand further forward away from the curtains. You are one person running a blog, you're not a CEO Your about us photo is a stock image and not one of the team - because there is no team? Your contact page gives a map setting for Twin Peaks but on the home page it's Telford - but not a specific address in Telford so I'm guessing the map is there because you think it's cool You need to state your credentials, why will your "wide spread" tech blog be more influential than any of the others? Is it all those years of industry experience and speaking at conferences that makes up and coming companies want to talk to you? Do you think that maybe you don't need to repeat the email signup form so often on https://www.techapic.com/faqs And does your specialist review team actually exist?
Why don't you have a menu of some sort on your page? Forcing people to scroll down to hunt for links to other pages is a very serious error for most sites. You also have two identical errors on your page, one near the top and one near the bottom: Both of those errors should be fixed. The rest of the page loads fine. You should proofread you content. Using slang terms like "Collab" (What in hell does that mean?) tells people that you are not a serious business. "Stuffing" is not a good idea either. Don't use convoluted long sentences that turn people off. Keep your sentences short and simple. For example, you say, "If so get in contact with us today!" which if rephrased "If so, contact us today!" would turn fewer people off.
I think it is HILARIOUS that the OP reported post #3 above by @sarahk. Doesn't the OP realize that @sarahk is a super moderator on this website?
You can still call me out if I'm out of line, however, the OP invited us to look at his website, the photo is used on all the blog posts I viewed so it's a little precious to suddenly claim that he doesn't want it out there. I forgot to add in my original review that you've got a stack of social media logins on the site but only the instagram button is set up.
Show usable articles if this website is a blog, show videos if you are talking about having a video channel. It is necessary that all the content was immediately, and not such a stupid promotion of the "parent" site. Learn to make the product well and advertise it correctly.
