Can someone give examples of WP as a content management system?

I have only seen it as a blog.

I want to make a website....not that many pages. It will be sort of describe characters from a story. Each page should have a picture, and bio of the character. And I'd also like a blog that gives people updates. Should I use WP or Joomla for that?

Last one is an article about using WP as a CMS and it use WP as a CMS.

Tons of sites use it for all types of purposes. I don't know what you mean by updates. If you mean it makes RSS feeds available for people to subscribe to, WP supports it.
