Can someone explain why people do this?

Please view this blog and tell me why would someone "borrow" an article and then add stupid links that do not make sense with the rest of the article?

Only reason I am asking is because the article is mine!!!

    http://jordanmackey.com/blog/phoebecarroll4819/

They linked to my site, which I guess is good but why would they mess up the article? It can't be for their benefit since the article now makes no sense.....

Anyway....just wanted someone to take a look.

Sorry if this post is in the wrong area.

The reason for scraping data and then scramble it is because then you get a higher relevance at the Google search engine due to that you update your site often and no penalty for duplicate content is given because the data is scrambled.

    At least that's my guess.

To avoid penalization by Google because of duplicate content could be one of the many reasons...
