Hi I am just a beginner so excuse my lame questions... But I am assuming that when people refer to keyword targeting their ezine articles that it the same sort of thing as keyword targeting for PPC? So if I were (which I not actually) promoting a dog training product I assume it would be a silly move to select keywords like 'dog training' because loads of other people are writing articles with these key words? I am on the right track or way off? Thanks a million,
It's about picking keywords to focus on that ezinearticles is most likely able to rank in the top 10 of Google for and get traffic.
Well if you're writing for dog training, don't target the keyword dog training because it's way too competitive. Instead go for longer keywords like 'simple dog training tips' . Look for longer keywords with not much competition which get decent traffic, and target those keywords
Log in to Google Adwords (create an account if you don't already have one), and use the keyword research tool. Enter "dog training" and check out the related keywords and see if you can find one with decent search volume and relatively low competition to target in your article. Make sure to use the keyword a few times in your article, but don't overdo it.
keywords are the golden nuggets that customers are searching for ... if the golden nugget is in your article, they will read it, and then hopefully click through to your site .... try and get keywords that someone might be searching on if they were looking to buy
