Something very starnge has started hapenning to my site today.

It ranked number 13-11 for a certain keyphrase. Over the last couple of days i noticed it dissapeared when i do an ALLINANCHOR: search but was still there for a normal search. So, i ignored it.

Today i noticed that for the ALLINANCHOR search it was showing my title, my description but the site on google was showing as:

www.ntpyDOT-COM/1338 (obviously, replace the DOT-COM with .com)

When i click the link, it goes directly to my page.

I also just noticed that my seach results have COMPLETELY dissapeared for the terms directed at that page. Can anyone shed any light on this?

    Your site has been hijacked.

It's called a 302 redirect, which is used by scrapper sites to basically steal your content and rank instead of you.

You can prove the hijack by going to Rex Swain's HTTP Viewer and entering the page you stated in the original post. You'll see that page re-directs to yours using a 302 code (temporarily moved).

Basically, googlebot follows the redirect and thinks that your content belongs to nytpy.com.

I'm not sure what you can do about it these days, but if you search for "Google 302 hijack" you should find a solution.

Thanks longcall911. I dont understand what a social bookmarking site would have to gain from stealing our ranks for home furniture related keyphrases. This page: http://clsc.net/research/google-302-page-hijack.htm says that the problem is pretty much fixed. Funnily enough, google is now showing my page again but the redirect is still there. Do i still need to worry about this?

Can't say what you should or shouldn't do.

If it were my site, I would contact the domain owner by postal mail telling them to remove the redirect or face legal action. I'd probably report him to his hosting service as well.

None of that may have any effect, but at least I'd know that I tried.
