Pinging is basically sending out notification to various services/aggregators that you have updated your blog with new content.
Hi, It's real easy. This term applies to blogs. Usually you hear about tag and ping. A tag is just a keyword. On Wordpress it's a category, on Blogger it's something else. Any way, once you add a post to your blog (along with your tag) go to pingoat, (http://www.pingoat.com/), fill in your information and hit go. Roughly 50 sites will be informed of your new post.
