Hi Me is trying to enter the world of adwords . I am little confused here , trying to understand the difference between google.com , google.co.in and local and global ads. Example: I search for the term 'desi' on google. I) if serached on google.com , 1 ad is visible II) if searched on google.co.in , no ad is shown III) If searcched on google.com with a US proxy , no ad is shown What exactly does the above indicate? as someone who wants to serve ads on adwords , I am very confused. Also why is only 1 ad visible ? the term 'desi' is a popular term with 'high competition'(according to google addwords keyword tool). Shouldn't there be more ads if it has high competition ? Thanks
Google adwords gives you the ability to target your ads to specific countries. this is the reason why you can see different ads from different countries. You can use the adwords preview tool to check what ads showing on which country (eliminate the need to use proxy )
so what matters is where the ad is being shown , not from which google (google.com or google.co.in) the query is coming from ?
As well as differing information from all over Google's network, please bear in mind, Google itself is not infallible. As an example, we have researched adword cost creep, and have found keywords that pop into the top 10 most expensive and then out each month at random.
