May be one should answer the questions un-biasedly, then the visitor will click on the recommended answer.

Ok, but how will this affect my traffic?

How would they go to my site?

You will only get traffic from it if you put your link in the answer, but it has to be relevant to the question. Do not just put random things in!

Answer a question as well as you can and include relevant link(s). If it's good, you'll get selected as the best answer.

I've done this many times. However, I don't spam. I look for questions on the topic of my sites and then see if the answers already entered are lacking (they usually are). If so, I give an answer that's above and beyond what the person needs.

I wouldn't go around answering hundreds of questions and expecting a flood of traffic though. I did it, because there's too much BS info in the industry I answered questions about and I'm an expert in that industry.

you must go to yahoo questions/answers and find out the related stuff about your website, and answer there with a link, the person reading the answer will come to your website to get the solution. But this should not be am spam, always give relevant answer for that.

Search for recently asked questions and be the first to answer a question with a good answer.

You have to be careful though. Yahoo will ban you if someone complains you're spamming, no questions asked. I was banned for posting an article in the business answers. It was totally relevant, but some jerk must have reported it (maybe competition) I was banned, and since I had my web hosting through yahoo, I lost my business site. Not to mention my yahoo address book.

It toke me 2 months to get everything straightened out. They gave me back my account and apologized, for what ever that’s worth. But there’s no telling the damage it caused me.

Wow. I thought it took a few people to report you for you to be banned. :p Thanks for sharing. I'm going to be more careful.

If you have a site for a specific niche, lets say pets, and your site has interesting articles related to pets, you can actively participate in the pets and animals section of Yahoo answers and answer questions there. For reference, you can link to a related article on your website so users looking for more information related to their question can visit your site for more information. This can drive traffic to your site and the traffic will also be targetted.

I'm serious in that I was reported once and wrongfully banned. I spent tons of money calling yahoo from China, and at first they refused to tell me even why I was banned, and said that once you are banned it was impossible to regain your account (which I knew was BS).

I think I must have aggravated them enough to where they actually reviewed the reported post, and they determined they had made a mistake and that my post was not spam.(2 months later)

One employee there told me that this was a problem that they where dealing with, and that others had been wrongfully banned too.

Me, I will never post any material in a public yahoo forum, it's just not worth the risk of losing my account.

The link you left in Yahoo! answers are do follow in nature. So they are only helpful in driving traffic, not in ranking.

So if I run a natural health site, I can freely post "relevant" answers for questions in the health niche? How many would you say is a good # to start with?
