I was a bit confused about where to ask this as there is no section for SEO in the services section for buy, sell or trade, so if this is in the wrong section please tell me where to post it.
I really need some help. I will give you the short version. I am a stay at home mum who makes fabric wall hangings, i have had my site http://www.kimtdesigns.com for about 6 months now. I get about 15 - 30 visitors per day and am not selling any of my products. I have submitted to hundreds of directories ect but need to get more visitors now.
I have a 0 Page Rank and am not even indexed by Google. I have been working so hard on this site but nothing i do seems to work. The main problem is i read and read and study what i should do but i get confused with the difference between all of the terms. SEO, backlinks, oneway links ect ect.
I really need someone to do some serious SEO for me. Well i think that is what i need, i am not even sure of that. Can anyone also tell me why i have not even been indexed by google. I am sure i read somewhere only to submit to places once otherwise i might get banned.

I do not have any budget for this, but could send you a 30cm x 40cm wall hanging in exchange for your services. My wall hangings are a great product and i believe they will sell, but i just need more traffic to my site. Just ask member here 'Hecky' how good my wall hangings are, he has one.
    Thanks from Kim

Well, maybe we can talk about it or discuss on it. Just call my YM ID.

But, first, have you submit your site in google index?

Well for starters! You need these two tags inside your site <head> and </head> area.

<meta name="keywords" content="Put some words and short phrases seperated by a comma that are revelant to your website in here" />

<meta name="description" content="Put a description of what your site is about in here. Try to keep it between 200-250 words" />

Have fun and just keep improving.. you site template and wall hangings are nice looking.

You could try adwords, also one way links are links from a site to yours and you don't link back and reciprocal links are when you link to them and they link to you. You could probably read a few articles to find some good tips, use meta description and keywords and H1, 2, 3, etc. tags and also directory submissions don't give PR because most of the sub pages dont have PR and if they do they have to many outgoing links.

I think you are already indexed. So don't really worry about that. Just continue building backlinks. :)

I see your website is indexed by Google. In fact, from my end I see 56 pages of your site in Google's index.

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site:kimtdesigns.com+&btnG=Search

Something that might be hurting you from a visitor standpoint is that your "cart" button & your "catalog" button lead to the wrong pages. Your cart button points you to the catalog & vice versa. You actually have a couple of those mixups.

You need to differentiate your page titles. Page titles should be keyword focused & be unique for every page on your website, unless every page is offering the exact same thing.

You've got a good title, but other than a snippet at the end, your page title is the same on every page. Important keywords go at the front, and make the title unique.

Other than your title, I would concentrate on backlinks. If you have a online classifieds ads website that is popular where you live, advertise in that.

A way for you to "get your name out there" is to run a contest. Maybe offer everybody that purchases one over x days to be entered into a drawing for a free product. Setup a blog & advertise this fact - get the word out.

If you give people something to talk about online, they will. Do something to create a buzz about your products & people will naturally link to it .. . .and this will be more beneficial than any SEO you could buy.

Have someone write a press release for you and submit to prweb.com

Thats a long description. I would keep it around 50 words max.

Yes rspenc29, that is true. I was thinking a little bit old school on that... LOL

You are correct.. a 50 word description is perfect.. as in the SERP's that is about where it will cut off anyway..

I think unique page titles on the pages is a good thing too as ednit has mentioned.. The others here are also bringing up some great points to help in site enhancements and for more notoriety.. Great Thread!

how is your competition for wall hangings? can you find a more niche keyword to target the exact type of traffic you are trying to recieve? if you do use google adsense or adwords you should try to target a much more niche keyword span so the people you are paying to come to your site, are exactly the people that are looking for what you are selling

A lot of these suggestions would be great, if she had money.

As she mentioned, she doesn't have a budget for this - so anything she implements can only cost her time & effort but no cash.

A press release is a good idea, though. I'm sure there are free press release services that would suffice to help out some, though I don't personally know of any.

Doing competition research would be a great idea as well & use the proper keywords for your link building efforts & page titles.
A free resource that helps me out is:

    http://www.keywordenchanter.com/advanced-research.php

It gives you not only the search volume of keywords according to Wordtracker, but the Google competiton & the KEI, which essentially tells you how good a phrase is (at least in terms of competition, this tool can't tell you which keywords will convert for you)

Thanks for your suggestions guys, you are all very nice to give me those tips. I will try to give some of those a go. I do get so confused about it all. I will print these out and go thru them 1 by 1 . I have just read all of your suggestions and can't remember a bloody thing. It must be my age, lol , just had a seniors moment that is what it is, however they come very regularly.
    Thanks again from Kim:eek:
