Can somebody shed some light on why DirJournal is successful?

DirJournal.com is very successful as we have seen.

However, I can't quite understand what the differences are between dirjournal.com and alivedirectory.com that is falling.

Both were promoted heavily but it looks Google treats them differently.

Can somebody shed some light on this issue?

    Thanks.

Look for yourself dude, its common sense! what does alive have at the moment?

    - A crossed linked network

    - A Directory which offers nothing

    - Content was has never been updated?

    - Backlinks that were achieved just to achieve high pagerank?

    - and much more of nothing.

Basically if you are comparing Alive and DirJournal as of now, its like comparing a BMW having had a fatal accident, the owner never bothering to repair or bringing it back to live and a BMW whose owner seems to be taking a lot of care of his precious vehicle.

I hope you simply get the difference.

DirJournal only offer free templates to build backlinks, they have not spent one buck to advertising.

180,000 backlinks for a 16 month old web site and you think they all came from offering free templates? :D

They have spent a ton on advertising, two minutes looking through their backlinks will tell you that.

they have the "how to" guides database,
    it's built for search engine,
you will not find any article that have human reply on comment.
it will ultimate damage itself for posting the "copy" article.

You are very wrong. They've spent thousands. Even paying me some $$$ to promote those free themes count, aswell as paying me to sponsor that nice Aurora theme I released for example.

Not really. Its not banned, it was penalised for the same reason as many others.

Exactly. Hasan bought a tonne of avatars and sig links here which must have cost him over $1k. He has banners and links everywhere.

No its not. You'll find its not keyword stuffed at all, meaning its not SEO articles they are written for humans. I read some of the articles on his blog and I remember seeing some comments there.

    ---------------------

If you can't work out why DirJournal is successful you must be in the wrong industry. At least Sunny touched on some of the better point and shows a clear understanding.

DirJournal is successful because it is a true directory. It actually hires editors to add sites. Yes I know he has thousands of empty categories but he's adding like 500 links a week so it'll be full before long.

Try and find MFA or a spam site on DirJournal. You won't. He actually reviews submissions, edits titles, declines crap sites.

Just look at the successful directories. BOTW, Yahoo, JoeAnt, WowDirectory, even Aviva. They all have the same traits. They are all quality, have thousands of sites listed, and don't accept crap.

That's why they're not penalised. That's the difference between them and Alive Directory.

    -----------------------------------------------

    EDIT -

And people ask me why I don't post much around here...........
