Can some people test my new tool?

I wrote a quick SEO analysis/KW density tool

The form is nasty but the results page looks nicer:

    http://www.avoso.com/SEO/

Please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions

    Thanks

I tried it. I waited about ten minutes for it to run and then it timed out and I got no results.

    It just froze!

It is incredibly slow.. Mine hasn't froze yet but its been 5 minutes already. I'm not sure people will stick around for the amount of time it takes.

Maybe you need a "Time Remaining" counter on it

I waited my usual 30 secs. Then bailed. Pretty progress bar.. I think maybe it's a little ambitious.. :)

Sorry THT but it just takes too long. Perhaps break it up a little (ie density vs rank or some such and let me choose) - either that or learn how to 'multi-thread' php (in your case you want multiple simultaneous connections) which may imply shelling or Perl etc.

    Good luck with it though..

    Cheers,

    JL

Looking at your code, I think you might need to update your display style for the 'content' div from none to visible after the results have been gathered.

It does take a long time to get the results. A time indication would be nice.

It has potential to become a usefull tool.

It froze after about 10 min. in FF but in IE it worked fine (but it took *way* to long)
But maybe that's the nature of the beast, you sure are checking lots of stuff. I'd say it has potential.

It is a pretty cool summary for someone who wants an at-a-glace view of their site. You could get more advanced and ask for the user to put in the URL as well as some KWs and you can compare those KWs to what you find in the H tags etc. You could also analyse the page to see if their internal navigation uses images/text and add more SEO analysis that way. If it's going to take a long time to load, it might as well be as comprehensive as possible :D

first time I ran it, you have speeded things up I guess: 70 seconds. but I got a javascript error at the end: Line 4, char 2: getElementById(...).progress.style is not an object

    and it reports:
Internal Links: 0 The number of links from your page to other pages on your site

    I don't think that's true :)

but the rest of the results seem very usefull! keep on tweaking!

Frank, the speed it takes is dependant on external sources, if google is being slow, then you'll get slow results!!

Which site did you test when it said no links?

Oh and the Javascript error should be fixed

    I Pm'ed you the url I tested.

but if you are running that many queries, you might want to split it up. Give us back some results as soon as you have them, and let the scanning continue in the background or something like that.

Or make some checkboxes so I can decide myself what I want to have checked or not

It's a pretty nice tool, you might want it exclude words like 'have, i , you, they, them,'etc.

    Some words are already excluded

I believe that all the google stop words are - if you find any more let me know
