Can some make a list of domain extension in order of importance for SEO?

I know, the first is always .com, but what is the next in order. If you could, please, name at least 5 or 6 and explain shortly why? I need to choose domain, and .com is taken. I heard .info is bad. I don't know more...
    so:

    1.com
    2. ?
    3. ?
    ...

    Thanks for help!!

    1. .COM (popular since 1983)
    2. .CO (new alternative for "commercial")
    3. .ccTLD (your country)
    4. .ORG (for non-profit organisation)
    5. .NET (if .com & .co is taken, well this is your epic fail extension)

.net is not an extension for "commercial". It just means "network"... its originally intended purpose for organizations involved in networking technologies... now it's just garbage.

If you want your name to be treated as "commercial", .co is the second choice.

    .co.uk, .co.il, .co.jp, .co.etc… I don’t need to spell this reason out

In European English .co would probably be much better aligned with company than .com, if .com hadn’t ‘got there’ first.

Google doesnt SEE that way...nor does it care for W3C validation. Many dont understand that and believe a .com site with excellent coding would be a monster when it comes to SERP. If you have any solid knowledge of SEO and branding, you'd be not saying this.

Because .ORG is the only extention for non-profit organization ... For sites that are proud to be non-commercial like greenpeace.org wikipedia.org redcross.org linux.org

.NET on the other hand are for people who missed thier chance to get the .COM

Back in the days, there was .COM and .NET only... .COM was for people who want to have a commercial name while .NET was used for internet providers and for server hosting companies only... Now that rule broke somehow because of the high demand that .COM is full and .NET open it's door free like .COM

The only problem, .NET as nothing to do with commerce. It make no sense to have a domain name like NIKE.NET I mean WTF? Nike is an Internet provider?

Is .us good idea, since most of my traffic will come from USA and Amazon works best on USA ground so I will do most of my business there?
I personally most like .us after .com. If this has no impact on SERP I will use .us.

    What do you think?

I think how much competition there is in your niche and your site content matters also.
One of my geo targeted .info domains has been my best revenue maker lately.

I really don't have the feeling TLD has an importance in term of SEO. I have .info that rank better than .com
    But branding does.

I have no idea why people are makings lists of domain extensions by importance for SEO. While I'm a big believer in .com being the best domain extension (not for SEO but due to popularity) it won't make a difference unless you are targeting a specific country. In that case it's best to use a .co.uk for England for example but a .com can still work. It's generally about the content on the domain.
