hi everyone, just wondering what your experience (or thoughts) with high social media traffic to your site. Typically there's less click through rate on adsense since most of these visits have no intention on "buying". Im guessing this may reduce the $$ per click if ctr is decreased. On the other hand, it could bring links... Question is, should more time be spent on SEO (from what i see its good ctr and more money) or a balance of social media and SEO
No it will not. What type of social media? Is it digg or stumbleupon which only give spikes in traffic or slow and steady traffic from facebook and twitter? It will not harm in any case.
When you talk about there being less click through, I think you may be over-generalizing things. It all depends on the niche that you're in, and how applicable those Adsense ads are to visitors coming to your site. If there are advertisers with something relevant to offer your visitors, i see no reason why they won't click on the ads on your site. The only way to really find out is to set up your blog or site, and then visit it afterwards to see the types of ads that are displaying - I feel like you have to dig a bit deeper to see why you are getting low click-through rates. Only then can you decide definitively how to split your time and effort between SEO traffic and social media traffic.
it depends of referrer if google just saw facebook as referrer its fine if it tracks facebook.com/spamgroup then it may be a problem
