Can small blogs last?

Suppose you build a small blog with great content on specific niche (longtail keywords) containing only 10 blogposts. After that you do not update the blog for months but do link building every now and then. Would such blogs last and get decent traffic?

 

It is kinda tough to get decent traffic with only 10 blogposts. One of my blog have more than 50 posts, but it do get more than 100 traffic a day.

Also I take it that you are wanting to rank in Google. And
it sounds like you are wanting to start a niche blog. Google
doesn't really acknowledge sites that are not regularly update
with unique content.
I recommend you to keep post content so you can be relevant in the
eyes of the search engine. Do not worry about the count of post, just post
your heart out...
As far as you sending traffic to the site yourself that will be fine, but if your wanting
to use SEO just post and build your links.

 

That sounds like a really tiny niche, but with quality content and enough quality backlinks, you can definitely get hits from search engines easily.

 

I've seen this happen but you may just end up getting a spike in traffic with it tailing off as time passes, even with more link building.

 

i think you need to update your blog...I guess Google prefers blogs that are updated with unique content and i don't think you will be able to keep getting traffic with only 10 blog posts...you need to give readers something new and unique to read after a while...try to update your blog...it can be once a week or every two weeks...but try and update it...no matter if the post is long or short,,,just make sure it's original....

 

Yeah it works if you do proper seo it ranks well. just google about "Micro Niche blogs".

 

Small blogs should concentrate on networking I think.

 

YOu could still get decent search traffic if you're building backlinks daily

 

Google always loves active blogs. You might get traffic from backlinks and your existing blog readers where as the chances of appearing in search results is very low with respect to your PR.

 

Of course NO, there are million of blogs already created and updated. Creating a 10 blog post can't make you on the top of Google search. Its important to update your blog write once week at least.

 

It depends on its content, most small blogs don't last.

 

Tumblr is considered small blogs too.

 

I think there is no specific number of posts that will immediately convert to traffic. For one, it would have to be dependent on the strategy you use.

 

If those ten articles are really interesting, then it might work. Can't underestimate things that go viral.

Definitely it would last especially if the content is great and the niche is specific and most likely to get traffic but surely not a "decent" traffic.

 

you should keep posting new content and do SEO as well. if it is difficult to find the unique content, try to update at least in a months.
because if keep track of your site, you will see when ever webmaster post some content on page the traffic suddenly get boost.

 

To get traffic you must keep posting otherwise its usual that your traffic will fall unless your topics that you had already posted are out-of-this-world kind of unique..
