Aim at bad indexed state of my site, many people suggest that you should add new content to the site, update the sitemap.xml and make Google know the update of the site. yes, I always do this, However, I am now puzzled that should I update the sitemap.xml everyday and resubmit the updated sitemap.xml to Google everyday through Google webmaster, the premise is that new content is added to my site every day.
If you have updated the sitemap everyday then yes it is fine to submit it everyday. Basically, you should only submit it if the sitemap has changed whether that is daily, weekly or monthly is up to you.
Yes, every time you update your content you need to submit your Sitemap to the SE. Else, it won't come to know that you have new content on your website. Or you can say it Pinging the search engine on every update. If you are using any CMS... you can automate this process by using free plugins that automatically ping search engines whenever you update any content
I know that for me works automatically, i don't have to resubmit it every time i have new content, google downloads it automatically.

Enter the sitemap name in the robots.txt file and Google will read it automatically every time it spiders your site.
As per my knowledge once you installed sitemap plugin and created sitemap one time you don't need to do that again.. it will generate automatically
I would alwayslet google decode how often they want to download your sitemap. if your server supports last update records then google can easily determine appropriate re visit schedules
