    hello!~

i have got website on awardspace.com (undergroundseaplants.awardspace.com) and i want to know having adsense ads in it and SEO applied on it on the free subdomain that is awardspace.com can get me to top of the google search engine results!!!

I have seen free subdomains on top results but those having adsense on them happens to drop ranking and at all do not appear on the top results

Is it possible or i have to purchase a new domain so that i could apply adsense on them and SEo and then happen to come on top rankings

Please share your thoughts with me!!!

Yes you can, subdomains are treated like a separate domain (still for now, google said there maybe some changes to this later and it is hard to say what is the impact for all those individual sites/blogs that is on subdomains)

The problem with subdomain is if you decide to go with your own domain name later, most of the hard work will not be able to bring over, and you will have to go through another cycle with your new domain name.

If you do have plans for your website, it would be much better to invest in a domain name rather than using subdomains that ultimately belongs to someone else.

you can do SEO on any sites. domain, subdomain, blogger - as long as its a website, you can SEO. however, if you are spending time doing SEO, then might as well get your own domain name which will stay there for ever. but that depends on what you are trying to do and to what length you will go with the SEO

sometimes its actually easier because the main domain has so many links and authority content associated with it a tiny percentage leaks down.

The downside is that you will sometimes get things happen that you don't control but it's nothing to worry about.

Some directories also won't accept a website hosted on a free host. So for long term, you're better off getting your own domain.

Google views the sub-domain as a totally separate site. The site is probably in the sandbox, or google likes to throw your site around when it's young.

    Why using red/blue colors ?

Anyway it don't matter whether its a free subdomain as long as u have good content. Get the tags right, keyword density right and u should be good. Unfortunately onpage SEO has lost its value over offpage seo nowdays.

If you have anything specific to ask, than feel free to ask me.

    Regards

You can put adsense on any page that has compilant with google's TOS, this includes free hosting as well. While free hosting may be gone one day, I wouldn't base all my business on it, but especially for ranking quick and easily, subdomain/subdirectories on authority domains like blogger, wordpress.com, squidoo or hubpages (there are many more) can be very handy.

SEO isn't different from what you'd do for your own site. Try optimizing onpage, then build links, links and more links.

As for the sandbox: Pages on old, trusted sites or subdomains on them tend to less likely hit the sandbox, but since the google guys know many people try to exploit this, they adapted to it pretty fast. Even a 10 year old domain could be sandboxed in there is suddenly an unusal link growth.
