Hi, I have a site that has products on and then I have another site where some of the same products are listed on both sites but in a different way. I use the same images for the product on both sites so I only host the images on one site to save money on space. Could this affect your rankings. Is pulling images from another site of yours be damaging to your rankings.
i have heard rumors that hotlinking to another site, is considered a link to that site by the SE's. I havent seen any proof of this... but is an interesting thought and perhaps something you want to consider.
The thing is, I have over 1,000,000 images being pulled from one site by about 20 other sites and they are all hosted on the same server and have the same IP. I don't want to get banned from the SE's, but I don't see the point in having to have to have 1,000,000 images on the same server 20 times for each site, if you get what I mean. That will take up 20's the amount of space and I just have not got it to waste. Does anybody know if they really do consider image hotlinking in their ranking. If they do then I think it is a little stupid if you get penelized for linking to images from another site of yours.
when ever u host images on other site, u get 3 or 4 types of links, u just use link that hase no backlink to them.
I don't quite get what you mean. When you use an image from another site you just have one way really and that is: <img src="http://domainname.com/images/image1.jpg" border="0" /> The above is all you have really. Will using something like that on domainname2.com mean that I could be damaging my PR and ranking in the Search Engines, plus could get banned as I have over 1,000,000 images like it. Please help!
