I've had users emailing me saying they purchased an advert on Adbrite from my site, but it didn't show up and no money has been deducted from their account. So, I tried to purchase an advert on my own site, went through all the steps, signed in, confirmed my credit card and ended up to the "Order is Pending Page". However, I received no confirmation email, no money has been deducted and no pending advert on my Adbrite admin page. Perhaps because I'm in Asia? Can anyone else check this or try it on your own sites? Even if your ad goes through, you can cancel the order at no cost to you. Let me know your experiences, it'll help towards a complaint I'm making!
hmm looks like adbrite is working on this i think they are down as of now wonder if they will post any updates on the problems they have been having
No, I've been having this problem since Dec 2006 - Mar 2006, was fixed and now from April 2006 onwards. My specific problem is that advertisers aren't able to purchase ads on my site, probably due to my Asia location?
I notice the same thing when I did a test ad too. I don't see it anywhere in my review ads section, but it does show up on the site. It's hard to figure out exactly what's going on with AdBrite in general though. Even simple things like how much am I making for CPM's, how much am I making on CPC's? How much is the CPM/CPC for a particular zone? I have to go into these big reports and pull out my calculator to figure this very basic things out. Also, I had zones that weren't showing ads for a while only to find out after emailing them that the zones weren't approved yet (after weeks). Couldn't it tell me that on the interface? And finally, today I was just walking an advertiser through how to setup their ads to advertise on my site and it takes him through the entire process, but when he pressed the "Confirm Order" button near the end of the wizard, it took him to a blank page. I then tried it myself and got the same blank page, then figured out that you must be signed in BEFORE doing this process for it to work. So in any case, the advertiser had to register, then redo the process. For something that core to AdBrite's business, you'd think they'd have that part nailed. How many other potential customer might have tried the same thing? I'll never know. Don't get me wrong, I really love the AdBrite concept and it's serving ads like it should, but I need more info on the interface!
Yep I agree, when purchasing an advert you can get to the final stages and then asks you to sign in or the order doesn't go anywhere. In your case when you tried to purchase an ad on your site, are you settings setup in a way to automatically approve ads? Sounds like this is the case. As for reporting, I know they've changed the setup from March onwards and calculating revenue takes into account their 20% as well...so can be complicated
all direct ads need to be approved.the approval option is for only network ads. when you buy an ad,your CC does get charged.when the ad is rejected the money goes into your adbrite account for you to spend on another ad. yesterday i got an email for a new ad to approve, but there was no ad.last time that happed it was an edit and i didn't find out untill a week later.
Yep, I did also contacted Pud directly and am in constant emails with their Head of Ads. I had this problem for 3 months until it was fixed, now seems to have flared up again...they're still looking into it
