Hi all, would just like to get a wee bit of feedback on my Stock Photography website please. www.photosales.co.nz is the domain name, has only been online a few weeks, still building up the photos on there. Thanks for your time.
Not bad. Easy to read. Would like to see more photography in the header perhaps. 6 out of 10. It's very functional. Right to the point.
Cheers, Origionally I had quite a few photos in the header, but the image size was a bit too big, that's why I cut it down to what it is. Would be interested in a new header design if someone wants to make one - not sure what it's worth, gotta be somethere round $70
hi. i guess u have to resize this website as the webpage width is ok but the height is soo big. and v have to scroll down for it. its better to squeeze it and make some further groups so that it doesnt look complex...else nice work
Nice site. I would rearrange the Website stats (left) with Photographers. It took me a bit to realise that the "Who takes these photographs?" by the little magnafying glass was a sort of header for a list of photographers. I'd put them up further with a nice big header "Photographers" or something, then the smaller link to the list, then the list of names like you have it, then Website stats section underneath. The stats are nice to see but the photographers are more interesting to know where they are on the site first. Very clean too, though the bullet images sat a while before loading.
Looks good - I was going to suggest modifications to the header too. The rest of the site looks very clean and functional, but there's something about the header that just doesn't grab me. If that means anything
Oooh oooh! I know! You could take those nice big wide letters, NEW ZEALAND and make each letter filled with a photo (I saw my home state of Michigan do this in an ad, looked beautiful, was mostly natural photos of Michigan), and then paste together and then you have just one image (could be a gif or png with high index of colours) of the words. Not very big file to load necessarily, and looks cool. Something like this, using photos from the site itself:
That's a good idea, I will have a crack at that, unless someone else wants to make some $$ - I can not see images that are hosted with imageshack, due to restrictions on our net access...
Does that go for Photobucket as well then? It's similar to imageshack. I didn't take out the watermarks. Ask your photographers for permission to use bits of their photos for the site image. Or, most government sites like NOAAH (or however it's spelt) and NASA have free images. The Canadian gov't has some lovely nature photos, so I'm sure NZ does as well, and you shouldn't have access problems to that. Again, most gov't photos are public domain : )
