if your indian paypal can't take money from your bank account without permission .. they are just money depositing machines.
I have been dealing with PayPal for about 4 years now and the only way any money can be taken out of your bank account is if it is used as a backup funding sources or if a transaction for some reason has to be reversed. If you have the account set up as a backup funding source money can be taken out if your paypal account cannot cover a charge OR if you don't make sure that when paying charges that it is coming from your paypal account and not your funding source.
Well, If you dont have credit card attached in your paypal account but just bank account then paypal can never touch your money. In India, paypal now allows to verify via bank account. so no need of credit card. So, if you have just bank account added then paypal can never touch your money from bank account whatsoever matter is. Our banks never allow such anonymous withdrawals. If you have credit card also attached then they can withdraw your money for sure if such need arises.
@Augustin be careful because money can be taken out of your bank account if you use it as backup funding and your paypal account can't cover a charge.
I live in the UK and here if you do not supply the goods or service you must refund the money. As far as paypal reversing payment - I had a credit card that i canceled and a few months later it had been reopened as I had a annual direct debit mandate set up on that card - the dd was taken out of the account!! You will need to check paypals toc's to see what their policies are on; customers not receiving goods and refunds! Chargebacks normally occur when a buyer asks their credit card issuer to reverse an transaction that has already cleared. You can dispute a charge back with paypal, but they would want evidence of postage or delivery! As for your negative balance - paypal will allocate a debt collection agency to you if you have a negative balance for an extended period of time! I think you will have to refund the money!
Going back to my answer, if Paypal doesn't have a right to; then they aren't supposed to. They have taking money out of a person's bank account when they wasn't supposed to in the pass. Becareful using Paypal.
some countries banks gives such permission to paypal and some countries will not. so its upto your bank permission with paypal tie up
yes PayPal take money out without your permission. Its happened to me, for ebay fee's it left my Bank Account in the - and i had to pay back double to the bank that had nothing to do with PayPal
It all depends on the rules and regulations governing the banks and its partners. In India, paypal is not allowed to do such automatic debits from Indian bank accounts! Regards, RightMan
The best thing to do is go to your bank and tell them that you do not want any Paypal withdrawls taken out of your account without your permission. The Paypal withdrawl will be stopped at your bank and you will not have to worry.
Just go to your bank and place a stop on any Paypal withdrawls. The bank will not let paypal take any money out of your bank if you do this.
Paypal absolutely CAN and Will take money out of your bank account that you have linked without your permission. Anyone on here that says they cant doesn't have direct experience with this. I used paypal all the time for big transactions as Im a property manager. One client initiated a chargeback on a $5,000 credit card purchase of a house they stayed in. After they left they fraudulently charged it back. Paypal did not protect me, even though I've been doing business with them for years and then continually tried to take the 5k out of my bank that was connected to paypal without my knowledge. I closed the bank account. If you use paypal open a separate banking account that you can easily close if paypal decides to not protect you. Also, I had called Paypal and they said paypal cannot take money out of a bank account the paypal account just shows a negative balance. Total Lie! I also verified the credit card when this purchase was made and paypal said everything was good. Dont listen to others who don't have any real experience with Paypal and are just saying what they believe to be true, because they can deduct straight from your bank account and you would not know until after the money is gone.
