Well, my paypal account was limited. i uploaded the scan of my driving license. and then called them on their number and finally it got resolved :D today. And also now my paypal is verified.

Can paypal limit it again ?? Do they limit an account twice ? or just once ?

They can do it as much as they want. I've had an account limited 3 times in one week for a volume increase.

    Yeah.

My company have had a load of trouble with them. Some of the issues remain unresolved.

They can limit as much as they want, but if you want to sort it out or get resolved then my only tip ispersistance is the key. Don't be afraid to get on the phone and make some strong requests.

Basically, they can do whatever they want. If they decide to freeze your account with no explanation, they can :p... that said, they didn't do it multiple times for me, I guess they are really just looking for suspicious activity.

They most certainly can if they find something suspicious about your account or in your transactions. Just make sure that you provided accurate information when you sign up and use bank-issued credit cards to verify your account. Ensure that you do not violate any of the contractual agreement with you agreed to and abide by the Acceptable Usage Policy. In short, keep everything above board and you be fine.

They may under law require you to verify your IDs from time to time but as long as you keep your affairs clean, you should not have any issue.

I've been with PayPal since 2000 I think - they were still giving out $5 or $10 to sign up back then. Anyway, just got limited for the first time a month ago because they thought someone had accessed my account. MY point is you don't expect to get limited often, but it is possible any time.

They limited my account for no reason, i was logging into my paypal and my internet was not running fine, i got disconnected many times, and the next day, i found that my PayPal is limited :O the reason was "We have observed activity in this account that is unusual or potentially high risk."

So now i got it.. that they can do anything.. you too beware

Well you have to look at it on their perspective. By getting disconnected, I would believe you were trying to log in on multiple occasions in quick succession. They cannot see you and your computer so from the way you log in, it may seems that someone could be hacking into your account. Or did you engage in any transaction before the issue, maybe that should provide you with some clues as to what happened.

As long as you are not doing anything wrong, just furnish them with the documentations which they require and you be fine.

Well, it would be better than if they did not care about your account and let your account be hacked and all that. As for suspicious activities, Paypal is a company which deals in financial services and this is a very highly controlled industry because of the potential risk of being used for money laundering, terrorist funding and fraud and as such, there are a lot of laws and regulations which are there to help identify and prevent such activities from being operated. Paypal is just being conscious with their activities and if you have nothing to hide, you should get your account back. The fear is that if they harbor fraud or something, they may have to pay a very high price for it. Look at what UBS is facing now because their secret swiss accounts were abused by people who used them to evade taxes amongst other things.
