I have a site that I will be accepting payments through. Does paypal have a feature, or is there somehow a way, where I can have a certain % redirected to the referring party? has anyone evaluated paypal from a referral/affiliate standpoint? and information on this topic would be greatly apprediated. Thanks

Well, Paypal does support batch payment but it does not auto-redirect % of sales to another party. You would need to generate a list of people and dollar amount to pay for that to happen.

If you are selling software, check out http://www.plimus.com , they have a nice affiliate program which you can use.

You could have it done through a script on your server or using some software I'm sure is available.

Yea, I was hoping to get that functionality on my webpage. It's being developed right now and that is one of my requirements. I just wanted to know if I had to set up a specific account with paypal to make them work together.

You can use their API to work something out to suit your requirements.

What does API stand for? Do you have to have a business account?

You could use Google's API and find out. ;)

One great feature of Paypal is being able to easily pay affiliates in at least 6 major currencies (info at their site). Also, good luck with your ideas, very similar to what I would want to do.

ps. Allow for chargebacks, or you'll have a real mess.

Application programming interface. I don't think you need to have a business account. Just sign up here:
