I have a site that I will be accepting payments through. Does paypal have a feature, or is there somehow a way, where I can have a certain % redirected to the referring party? has anyone evaluated paypal from a referral/affiliate standpoint? and information on this topic would be greatly apprediated. Thanks
Well, Paypal does support batch payment but it does not auto-redirect % of sales to another party. You would need to generate a list of people and dollar amount to pay for that to happen. If you are selling software, check out http://www.plimus.com , they have a nice affiliate program which you can use.
Yea, I was hoping to get that functionality on my webpage. It's being developed right now and that is one of my requirements. I just wanted to know if I had to set up a specific account with paypal to make them work together.
You could use Google's API and find out. ^^^^^^^^^ One great feature of Paypal is being able to easily pay affiliates in at least 6 major currencies (info at their site). Also, good luck with your ideas, very similar to what I would want to do. ps. Allow for chargebacks, or you'll have a real mess.
Application programming interface. I don't think you need to have a business account. Just sign up here: https://developer.paypal.com/
