Can a site that is in the top 10 on google..... get kicked off the search engines..... for one "slip up" --- such as black text on black background........ or link farms, etc. Also --- is it possible to get in trouble in a one-way link farm (1000's of sites linking to you, but you don't link back)
Does google penalize you, or kick you off forever?? What happens if you get kicked off ?? Can you plea with the Google Mob????
it has already been proven that link farms do NOT effect your SERPS because you do not have direct control of your links being placed there. However any on-site slip ups will hurt you because you have direct control on that.
Care to provide some of this "proof"? I would disagree, and say its been proven the other way: http://groups.google.com/group/Goog...f77a59/37e9e2aded17eef1?lnk=gst&q=competitor# Specifically the post by JohnMu (google employee). Yet more misinformation posted here that off-page seo can't harm what you're doing.
"is it possible to get in trouble in a one-way link farm (1000's of sites linking to you, but you don't link back)" If google start to penalize sites for one way backlinks from other sites, then people will start to build thousands of backlinks from spamming sites for their competitors in order to get them penalized. Nothing outside your site can hurt you.
Unfortunately that is not correct... It is very possible to harm a competitor’s website, it shouldn’t be the case but sadly it is. Thanks Brian
Did you even read the post above your own? I've posted this proof over and over, what is it going to take for it to start sinking in with people?
i think one person on here said they bought links too fast, and even though they werent from link farms, google still saw how fast they were getting links and it looked unnatural so they got banned, and are still banned today
Please do a little research on stompernet.com Watch some of their free 3.0 vids and use their siteseer tool and you will see that i am right.
If you are doing black hat SEO tactics that can certainly destroy you. If, however, you just stop doing your normal, white hat SEO activities for awhile, that will not hurt you too badly. I stopped SEOing on one of my sites and it still has the #1 position for a keyphrase that it had five months ago.
Well rather than say "do a little research", why not post the proof here? I've posted why I believe I'm right. I'll happily read your proof, if I'm wrong I'll admit I'm wrong but I'm not going off to search for proof of something I dont think is correct.
