I have done a good deal of searches and have not come up with an answer to this question: Can one company set up two different AdWords Accounts for Two Different (but competing) Products? Example: My company ACME co. sells "Super Chairs" on a SuperChairs URL that are patterned folding chairs. If I would want to create a new brand and sell "Comfy Chairs" on a new Comfy Chair URL that are also folding patterned chairs, could I do so? Thanks in advance for any answers, they are greatly appreciated.
Yes, you can. The question I have for you is are you going to use the same keywords exactly? If you are, you'd be better off creating different adgroups for each product and create landing page that directs the user to the correct page. For the unique keywords you could direct the user to the direct url, respectively. Example. You sell Blue Widgets and Green Widgets, anything having to do with Widgets, send to the landing page, andything blue or green, to the blue or green url respectively.
no need to open 2 different adwords accounts, just run 2 different campaigns within the one account. thats what campaigns are for
I have a similar but slightly different question. Can one company with two differnet Adwords accounts promote two differnet websites offering the same services as the other? They of course also use the same keywords for each site.
Thanks for the help! I just wanted to make sure to abide by all the guidelines. I was planning on using many of the same keywords, but using some differing phrases as well. My only concern is that they are two different (but competing) products and that I could be in violation of the TOS under one account. So my example would be a bit more along the lines of TBA above: "Can one company with two differnet Adwords accounts promote two differnet websites offering the same services as the other? They of course also use the same keywords for each site."
So this shouldn't violate the Double-Serving Policy becuase they technically are two different products? https://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=14179
The main point here is that if the keywords are different for the brand you can run it in different campaigns. But if the keywords are same for both than it is something of concern. Hey tell me how it worked and which one performed better for u.
