I have heard of the term "sandbox" but I dont think I have ever faced any type of sandbox until now, and here is why, or maybe there is another reason. I setup a domain.com about about a month ago. About a week or so ago, I added a forum. Google currently indexes the root domain, and the forum url, so far good has not indexed any other urls; however, if I go to other search engines, then i will find that several pages have been indexed already. I see google spiders visiting the site every so often, but so far google is not indexing content. The domain is fairly new, and research shows no evidence of a shady past... I also setup another site on domin.org and it has 3,000 pages indexed. What do you guys think about domain.com sandboxed, or does it just need more time?
Sandboxing applies more to your ranking than the number of pages indexed. The number of pages indexed means nothing if you do not rank.
Sandbox in the sense of being penalized, yes. In the past, webmasters could use all sorts of tricks to get traffic and /or to get into top of search engine results page. Today, it is best to get organic traffic. Matt Cutts has said that Google reserves the rights to take action on spam.
I must say you have done due diligence to check the domain name so that it did not have evidence of a shady past.
