Hi there. Please tell me if you foresee a problem with my newest idea for my marketing campaign. Ok, I'm putting together an offline marketing campaign that drives traffic online. But, instead of advertising a web site address, in my offline advertising I just want to advertise a free gmail account. Example: Joe@gmail.com Then, I will set this gmail account to Vacation Status. And, each time a prospect sends me an email, they will immediately receive a previously typed response from me. For Free! Now, here is my question?? Does anyone foresee a problem if things got to the point where this free gmail account was getting say, 5000 to 10,000 emails sent to it per day? As most marketers know, gmail can handle a ton of mail. In fact, one of my gmail account, has over 150,000 emails currently sitting in it, and it works just fine. But, in the above case, I expect to be getting a ton of emails daily. The advertising alone will cost me a ton of money. So, I'm just wondering if anyone has ever heard of gmail or in fact google freezing a person's account because they received too many emails? There is a method to my madness to why I prefer to drive people to a gmail account, as opposed to simply registering a domain, setting up an immediate reply email, example: Joe@mydomain.com and asking people to send an email directly to that email addy. But, I'd like to keep my reasons private. All suggestions are welcome!! Thank you for your time. In short, will google freeze my account? directmail3@gmail.com
It would be impossible to know that until you give it a try. If you're after a free email service, Gmail is without a doubt the most powerful one.
i don't think so i have received more thank 1k mails daily for marketing purpose in starting but your figures are too big . I don't think so that any one would have use it for such limits . try your luck .
If you are going to invest significant amounts of money I wouldn't recommend taking any chances with a free service...whether it be gmail or any other
there may not be a cap on receiving, but sending there is for spam prevention. http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=22839 some services or hosts may have a xxx sending cap per hour.i think yahoo does per hour.
