Can multiple submissions of same url cause banning/rejection.

    Hi

I would like to try and get into as many directories as possible over the course of the next year or so.

There are many submission services out there and I have no doubt that most will overlap to some extent.

If a submission is made for a url and that url is already in the directory...could it mean both entries get rejected?

Unfortunately there is no one answer to your question. Some directory owners will simply delete the new listing, some will delete both and some won't bother to check to see if a listing for that site already exists. As a rule I check the old listing, change the description if the new one is better and simply delete the new submission without contacting the submitter.

When you or someone you pay submits your site, you should do a search for your site among the sites already posted. There's no way you can check the pending queues but if the queue is that long it might not be all that much of a loss if you're not listed on that site.

Be careful when you hire someone else that they offer the use of different descriptions and link text. Take a look around the forums as there are some submission services that appear to be somewhat highly regarded and others that are not much more than thieves.

Good luck and hope that helps somewhat.

You have a whole year, do it yourself, and make sure you dont duplicate. Easiest way, besides, unscrupulous submission firms will tell you they have submitted but don't claiming you were rejected, how are you to know?

Depends on how the script may be setup. Some do not allow the same url or even the same title in their directory.

True, I found that there was a way to overcome this though Rob buy submitting to a site via p*** for example using http://somesite.com.org.uk, or www.somesite.com.org.uk for example. I know there are ways to overcome this but what concerns me with this limitation of one url per directory is that some sites have very good sub content that merits site inclusion on it's own, so would the TLD of the site prevent sub-pages getting indexed?

    Food for thought.
