Hello, I am thinking to have MU wordpress to make money with google adsense with my local language. Is it really good to make money? What kind hosting do i need? Is it ok with dreamhost basic? sorry.. i am a newbie here.. thanks for yr suggestions. have a great day.
Making money through Adsense is not really bad you can go for it but still try something new like link sale and content publishing also with your wordpress...Hosting will depend upon your requirments...Best of Luck
Whether or not you use MU or not has nothing to do with if you will make any AdSense money. Not knowing what your plan is for MU, no one can give you any advice on how to best utilize it. As far as hosting goes, yes, you can probably install it on basic hosting, but if you plan to run multiple blogs, or allow users to create blogs on your network, I'd upgrade my account to handle a little more bandwidth. You may get away with running 10-30 blogs on it no problem (low traffic), but if it something that others can create blogs and you get some users, your basic account may not handle it...that is something best asked of your hosting company...can't really answer that without knowing your hosting plan. Also, you need to make sure that it is possible to set up the wildcard setting on your current account (this is what allows others to create blogs under a subdomain) and that you have mail functions available. Personally, I am building 2 MU sites, with plans for 3 more when 3.0 comes out and I upgraded my account from shared hosting to VPS. I think for better results and a better user experience (load times) that MU is not run best on shared hosting..in a lot of companies shared hosting is slow to begin with. You should also know that the next version of Wordpress will incorporate both single user and MU so it will all be one platform. It is scheduled to come out in April, so Worpdress 3.0 will have MU capabilities.
