Can this get you in trouble?

    www.same-site.com/ranking-well-page.asp

    has a javascript redirect to

    www.same-site.com/not-ranking-landing-page.asp

If not, then how about this

    www.one-site.com/ranking-well-page.asp

    has a javascript redirect to

    www.another-site.com

My guess would be the second example is bad because it is (doorway page) redirecting to a different domain (landing page)

but the first example is acceptable because it is simply redirecting to a different page on the same domain. The first example is what I want to do, but i want to make darn sure that I am not doing anything that is not white hat.

    Thanks for your insight! :)
