Can it become a super website with a good potential?

What do you think about www.exploredeutschland.com

What you suggest about this domain? Is it of any value at the moment? Is it worth keeping it and to develop it ?

What is the scope of a website related to a country.....

If suppose you are developing it, which sections from deutschland you would like to put in this web?

    Please appraise

It's worth keeping, it can be developped, but that would be a huge amount of work.

There may be issues with one word being in English and other in German. Presenting German tourist offers in general would suit the domain name fine, from skiing centers up in the mountains to party Hamburg down by the sea.

Thanks but I think deutschland is quite a popular word all over the world? Or is not it? On google there are good results about deutschland popularity but ofcourse people can tell in a better way.....
However, my question is actually that is this domain name attractive and has good potential relatively? Like if suppose if I want to sell it , then does it have any value?

I speak German and I'm aware of the word 'Deutschland', not sure about others. I witnessed English speakers from outside of Europe even misspelling Scandinavia. Germans who can't speak English wouldn't know what 'explore' means and English speakers who don't know Germany's name in German may not know what Deutschland means. Imagine a site named www.explorepolska.com (Polska - Poland) or www.explorezhongguo.com (Zhong Guo - China).

You can always test the market and put in on sale to see if there would be good offers by people who are into making web-sites about tourism. I think your domain would definitely reach a good value if you develop it at least that little with content and adsense, I've seen several of such travel sites going well in the sales forum.

thank you sportiana .. i can understand what you say.Are you the webmaster of sportiana.com ? It looks a good website..

Well actually I was planning to develop this domain in to a well established website for which I have to buy web space as well. That's why is this name really good so that I invest on it. Otherwise, It can be a waste of money...

Now I think of 2 options

1- Develop a normal germany information related website on it and sell it.
2- Develop a website on this domain and maintain it and rely on google adsense and other advertisers.

which you think will be most suitable. I am new to this stuff so I need suggestion... Secondly, I am currently in Hamburg so I can see how common English is in Germany ;) hehe...
So I want to attract people from worldwide instead of just Germans.... Lemme know :) please ...

once again thank you for your nice and good appraisal

    Danke, Bis bald, Tschau

I would start with the second option, to maximise the first option a while later :)

And do you think this sector has the potential to be sold at very high price?

You could rely on google adsense and other advertisers for a test period, if it's up to your expectations, keep it, if not, sell it. I remember seeing a web-site about an Asian city with an average domain name and not too many content in it, a couple of addresses of hotels, restaurants, pictures, google adsense spaces, it was sold for a good price in compare to other site sales at Digital Point.

Great forehand is that you are in Germany and whatever web-site you make, you have a far better insight in everything related to Germany than someone from abroad, this can make foreigners interested to buy your site with the content they can't make themselves, as well you can take pictures walking around Hamburg and other German places so your web-site will have copyrights for those pictures which also adds to the value of web-site.

You can write some reviews of restaurants/places you visited so you don't need to hire anyone to do it for you. Use native word in the domain name such as 'Deutschland' to give original German flavor to the site, in the same sense as if you would walk into a German souvenir store you wish for a seller to speak English with German accent for the flavor of Germany, not perfect British English. You could add headlines like 'do you know how they say beer in German, it's bier', and such fan info.

For someone from Germany, it's relative what would make a high enough price for you. People get satisfied to sell a web-site for $200 as it's the average monthly pay in some parts of the world, not in Germany.

Thank you sportiana.. its good to hear from you about the detailed appraisal. Yes, I will start collecting the pictures and small video clips and will concentrate that which areas will be liked by the people. I would prefer to develop this website and would like to attract the people from all parts of world.
Secondly, I can guess now the domain name is quite suitable atleast for germans and europeans as many know about deutschland.
I think presently, I should start with Hamburg, as I am in Hamburg at the moment.
I guess the budget will be quite big for making such kind of website as it requires travelling and visiting places.

From your appraisal i conclude that there is a good demand for such kind of websites. So, if it is like that, its not a problem to invest on it.

    Thank you once again

You're welcome. Everything is relative in the online world and my experiences are that the demand for that kind of websites is higher than for most other niches.

Be sure to have experience in having a web-site as a source of income before investing a big budget. Take one step at a time. Keep in mind to make the web-site look friendly for the advertisers so it can attract local hotels/restaurants/clubs to advertise through your web-site. All best.

Not great. Really needs to be developed into a full blown German tourism site to have value.
I think the mixed languages is not great.

If you want a site targeted to domestic German customers then deutschlanderkunden.com all german would be best. For English exploregermany.com.

deutschland is not well known by many English speakers, and i would imagine no Americans or Australian's would be too familiar with it. Leaving only English speaking Europeans..

Germany condition is changing... Their new generation is now learning English. Secondly, most of the europeans know that Germany is also known as Deutschland. There is a big population of Germans in America as well.
Furthermore, I have explore-germany.net but I am not sure if it is better than exploredeutschland.com what you think about that?
