Perhaps this person who told you that was just confused. Yes, there are limits on the number of articles you can submit until you reach "Platinum" status, but after that there aren't any limits. You can submit thousands if you choose to on one domain.
Maybe that person told you that there is a limit to the number of the articles you can reprint per domain.
