No. They're making some modifications and we can expect it'll be helpful for Indians also. I'll try to contact them for further details.

I heard it from Paypal itself, but don't remember clearly. Probably it was in their reply to me concerning the verification with UBI visa card. I've contacted them for further details and am expecting their reply. I'll be back with the link if I find it. Thanks.

Checked. But found that the 'add a bank account' link is not working. It's just a text and there's strike through it. I don't know what is wrong. Anyway, something can be expected from paypal.

I guess you have already added Bank Account. That's why no need to do same again.

True. I've already added a bank account and still my paypal was not verified. This facility was available earlier. Hence, what is new with it? Verification with bank account is enough to verify the paypal account now? No need of verification with credit or debit card? Earlier it was needed.

I don't think just by adding a bank account info PayPal will verify you. You have to provide Credit card info plus address/residence + identity proofs.

Don't say something you don't know. I verified my Paypal with a debit. All you need is a currency card

Samser says a bank account is enough to get verified, no need of any cards. When I checked paypal, it seems to be true as of now. I think paypal has made some modifications in the verification system as I expected earlier.

I think you're not acquainted with paypal transactions. At least the credit or debit card is enough now. The question is whether paypal has made any modifications to help the people like Indians who are unable to verify with their debit cards.

You have added that's okay. But to verify you need to follow 2 more steps. There are total 3 steps.

1.Add Bank account - already done!
    2.Request to send small amount
3.enter amount which appears on your bank account sent from Paypal

Simple way is to click on Get Verified link and follow steps. that's it!

You may not think but it's true! Need to follow some simple steps like card verifying.

PayPal can be verified with US, Australia, China and now India using Bank account. Not sure whether more countries support or not, but probably UK is in the same list.

Its true we can not add fund from bank account, but many friends like me who only want to remove limits (Monthly $500 withdrwal/$3000 Total etc etc)

You mean the old method of credit/debit card verification has been modified in favour of us? Can we withdraw money to our bank account with this? Anyway I have done the first two steps and now waiting for the deposit. I got a mail from them that a small amount has been sent. But I haven't received it yet. How long it'll take?

Yes, PayPal seems Indian friendly. Thanks to PayPal! :)

We are making withdrwal since Nov/Dec 2008 (as I can remember) to our Indian bank account. Now we can verify with the same account.

In case of fund transfer it takes 3 days to my SBI/AXIS Bank, if I make request on 20th as per PayPal's date/time, have noticed get fund on 23rd of the month. Sometime 2 days but rare, so, 3-4 days should take.

Thanks a lot for the useful info. One more question if you won't mind, will there be any tax liability for the amount withdrawn from paypal to the Indian bank account? Also how much will paypal charge for the withdrawal?

Regarding TAX liability I have no idea. But probably yes.

    PayPal withdrawl fees:

Free for Rs.7,000.00 INR or more

Rs.50.00 INR for Rs.6,999.99 INR or less

    Hi fokerss,

I was talking about the new verification system by paypal. You don't need a credit card or debit card. You can verify using bank account.

Add your bank account in Paypal. I added 2 bank accounts with the IFSC codes of the branch. Now I have requested to send money which should arrive in 2 or 3 days. Then I need to enter the amount I received into paypal to verify my account.
