Can I use the words friendfinder in my domain?

    Hey,
I am starting a site soon that will be something similar to friend finder, it is more specific than friend finder, but it is the same concept.

Could I use xfriendfinder.com or would that cause any TM issues?

    Thanks

It might cause problems in the future... If it's for a big project it might be worth getting it checked out legally.

sounds like it could be an issue, check it out with a lawyer. You may be able to get away with putting a disclaimer on your home page. Also you can read the link in my sig about trademark law. Lots of good info and case studies.
Actually, the link is here: http://www.directoryofdocuments.com/internetlaw/trademarklaw.html

friendfinder is a Federally registered trademark. Using "friendfinder" in your domain name would certainly be infringement if the service being issued is in any way similar to the TM. Adding a disclaimer to your site will not help when you use the TM in the domain name, as the TM has already been used to get a visitor to your site. If you used a different domain name, and then had a section in your site called "xfriendfinder" - a disclaimer may be of some benefit.
