Can I use text in the place of slideshow?

Hi,
I installed a theme in my wordpress blog but there is a slideshow in front of my home page.
I just want to add some texts in the place of slideshow.
Is it possible? if yes, from where I can do this?

yes you can replace the slideshow with a text.check your css and home.php file, find the code or javascript.
