Can I use photos from Google?

    Hi Guys,

I am looking to add some photos to my articles and place it on my site. I've searched Google and found some great pics but I'm not sure if Google will penalized me for doing that?

Does anyone know if this is OK or not?

    Thank you

It's bad my friend. You should look for a site that offers their free stock photos. Most of the photos from Google is copywrited the owner of that image may send you a demand letter.

When I started designing my own website (which admittedly I never finished building), I did a search for royalty free, or copyright free images....there are plenty of sites that offer really high quality images, and all they ask in return is that the original link, and sometimes a photographer biography snippet is posted somewhere on the site. Do a google search

Ask the owner if you can use it first. Most are OK if you leave credit...

Would you like it if someone Googled your articles and used them in their own projects without asking or paying you?

The photos are someone else's work and the majority of them don't want others to use it for free.

There are some totally free picture sites on the net just search. Some add the original sources link when using in a blog post and I am quite sure if your site is not making any money and just a blog it's ok to use pictures on a personal site. While technically wrong no one would bother on a legal claim with someone who makes no money off their site.

Photoes that you find from Google searches is simply other site owners (mostly copyrighted) Photos. You should look for royalty free photos. Just do a google search. One of the site that you can use..

When I first started blogging I steered clear of using copyright pictures, a fairly cheap alternative is iStockphoto.com By buying pictures your website will look more unique compared to other websites within your niche. Like others suggested using royalty free images is the way to go if your just starting out and can't afford to buy images.

I personally use pictures from Google to add it to my posts but I see that they don't have copyrights. So, if they don't have any copyrights you are free to use them anywhere.

you'd better not to do like that, cus some pic can show in google, but not in other website.so you can download and post it to other photo site which can show on other site.

Better check with Flickr and the Creative Commons license if you are not paying for stock photos.

Try to look for public domain photos, cliparts or images if you do not intend to pay.
