Can I use my own Google search box?

Can I use my own Google search box as long as I do not click the ads?

Also, does everyone here have bad experiences with "high" CTRs? I have a relatively low traffic site, that is fairly "clean", and doesn't contain enough content to make the viewer stay for more than 20 minutes. I'm getting about 10% CTR...and even higher on the searches.

If this was a spammer my rates would be a lot higher than that, just because my page impressions are relatively low as it is.

So is this something to be worried about with Google, or do a lot of people on these forums talk a lot of fluff to scare others? lol

    Thanks!

You are free to use the searchbox yourself, just be sure not to click on the ads.

lol I don't think they talk fluff on purpose but when people think from scarcity they wear off on others. As for a 10% CTR... thats nothing, I've got sites that get anywhere from 5-35% for months and months now.

Okay, I feel better now. It's not like I don't update my site with content, but I update it with small and funny articles. So viewers will come and read them and sometimes leave a page through an ad. Dunno if the idea works for everyone, but it works well with my viewers. :D AdSense is fun!!

Heh, that's okay. I didn't put anything about it in the title. So you wouldn't of known. Just kinda thought of the extra question after I asked about the search thing. ;)

I read somewhere where Google said searching on your own search box is fine, but it is not encouraged as it may result in clicking on your own ads.

Searching your website yourself is perfectly acceptable, although like many have said be aware of the adverts, as you are not permitted to click on these. If you do click on adverts by accident, remember to let Google know if you do it often, so they don't suspend you.

Finally, once you do find a rise in visitors to your website, it would be a good idea to take advantage of that by adding as much content as possible, while keeping all your content relevant in order to maintain a good search engine ranking.

    Good Luck!
