Is this allowed by ezinearticles or must I first redirect my visitors to my own blog or site?

As far as I know, you have to direct them to your blog or website first.

You can't put your actual affilate link but you can buy a domain name and have it redirect to your affiliates sales page. Cost you $10.00 but it saves you time building pages. It's a great way to test a niche to see if it converts before wasteing your time building a landing pages and backlinks.

Use a redirect or landing page.

Ezine article don't allow putting direct affiliate links to your article. Your article will not get approved.
