I own front page 2003 software and when working on a website today I searched for a image which took me to the microsoft image files. ( which is really a website full of images, pictures and such graphics ) I read all their legal blah blah like 10 times and still not sure if I am allowed to use the found images on my websites? Also what about Google images - can I use these on my websites? Thanks
You cant use google images on your site without permission from the owners. But in google advance search there is a feature where you can only have free to use images displayed. These images can be used without any problems. I am not sure about microsoft image files though
Are you talking about the Microsoft clipart? http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/clipart/default.aspx Most of the images there will like you to iStockphoto, Veer Images or other partners where you have to read their terms. One of their partners is iClipArt (http://www.iclipart.com/microsoft/), which has images for a penny or so. Here are their terms: http://www.iclipart.com/termsofuse.php Do you have a question regarding the terms for a specific image, or about one of the specific restrictions in the terms?
Thanks nucleu, I found the advance Google image search but still not sure how I will know which ones are free for me to use ? Each photo tells you from what website it is already posted on, so I assume that means it already belongs to that website? Thanks Nonny, what about k. ? I wold be using it in a commercial way, I think. . By putting it on a website is that not considered commercial? No ?'s about any specific images, just trying to find some good one cheap that I am allowed to use on websites.
PS: I went over to iclip & looked around. I seen a lot of what I want but each image I want is 5.00 ( 4.99 ) each ! OUCH! where are the .1 ones at lol
Google & bing searches for images from OTHER people. So you need permission from those 'other' people.
Try these: - http://www.sxc.hu - http://www.flickr.com/search/advanced/ (Flickr advanced search) Scroll down and tick the box that says "Find content to use commercially" before doing a search
