Dual booting just means that you can have multiple operating systems installed on the same computer, not running at the same time. which would be the only way to have the two running at the same time. a compatibility layer to run Windows programs on other operating systems.
You can run a virtual computer in Linux, and run Windows in that - at the same time that Linux is running. VMWare comes in Linux versions.
You can dual boot Linux and windows. If you have the latest version of Ubuntu, dual booting can be done automatically.
Don't the new versions of Ubuntu allow you to install it from within Windows? Or is it just an assisted dual boot setup? Regardless.... VirtualBox will let you run just about anything inside anything. It's free. http://www.virtualbox.org I run Ubuntu, Mint, and OSX from inside Windows 7 + VirtualBox. Works luvly.
Yes it's possible to have Linux & Windows on the same computer, that is how my netbook is setup. Download one of the Live Disks (Ubuntu is good for beginners to Linux) and boot it up, that way you can test if all your hardware works, and see if you like it (before installing.)
yeps by using the VM Work Station with interface of linux and windows installing by the cd or dvd in graphical mode only
Yes, you can use it. Right now i am using windows 7 along with Ubuntu Linux operating system. When i start my laptop, it will ask me to select the operating system from the list to proceed/load/logon to that operating system. And Ubuntu linux is very good to use and it is offering very easy installation method, with that we can install the ubuntu OS just like a software we do install in the windows operating system (that means we have to download the ubuntu linux operating system in the windows and we can install it from the windows itself through Microsoft Installer).
josefaryan, that's not "at the same time", that's one or the other. Using a virtual machine you can run both at the same time.
You can use dual boot on your laptop, first install Windows and second you can install Linux ..... but i think Linux is the best OS
Ubuntu, for example, allows to install it after Windows ans during computer boot, you can choose, what OS to load.
Doesn't anyone understand what "at the same time" means? Dual-booting is either/or, it's not "at the same time". The only way to run more than one operating system at the same time is with a virtual machine.
