Can i use debit card for google adword

    Hello friends,:)

    I own a site and want to explore it on google adword, But the think is
    i don't have a credit card i hold a debit card can i use my debit card
    for bidding on advertising in google adword....??:confused:

    I don't believe so. You need a credit card.

    No you can not use a debit card, I had the same problem until I changed my card.
    You don't have to use a credit card though because I now use a cheque card with a visa logo and it works fine.

    So just enquire about what card would enable you to make online purchases

    If you don't have CC or don't want to use yours for Adwords try 'virtual credit cards' or 'topup credit cards'. You can setup them quite quick and easy and top up (using your debit card)

    In Canada, a debit card is your bank card, your ATM card. You can't use it online since it has to be swiped and your password entered. Virtually all stores are set up for this, even the lowly convenience store. So your payment options are cash, credit or debit. Most Canadians use their debit cards and few of us carry large amounts of cash because of this. One of my infrequent to US a couple years ago, they had no idea what it was at the store. It didn't work. Worked fine to get cash out of a bank machine.

    I don't believe a virtual credit card (VCC) will work in Adwords either. At least, that's what I read in another forum. I don't think we have those in Canada.

    Well, maybe it's different from country to country, but I've always used my debit card (in the UK) - payment comes straight out of my bank account.

    Curious. Andy says he tried and it didn't work. Adwords says you can. Could it have to do with where the card was issued? I remember when working at Best Buy's call centre that we could not accept credit cards issued in Europe, only US or Canada. It may have been a Best Buy policy however.

    Depends totally on the type of debit card. Visa Delta/Maestro/Switch all fine, Solo/Electron not so fine

    Done it here in the past in the US without issue. Bank issues Mastercard debit cards. Logo on it. Works fine.

    If You added a CC long time ago - it still works for You. New CC are chacked one by one by google to prevent of infractions. You can always use a bank wire for activation.
