i scanned through the faq and google's TOS and i didnt find anything about personal information type of pages but i heard that adsense ads shouldnt be on PM pages and such great forum by the way!
You can not have it on any page that requires a login to view the content. As Google would be unable to spider it.
What exactly do you mean by 'personal information' pages? I have adsense on my persona sites and personal blogs and haven't had any problems.
Sorry, looks like your right. I could have sworn I read that before, but I just went through the TOS and it is not mentioned. I guess Google would only show ads related to the site then and not the specific page? Doesn't seem to make much sense from a contextual stand point.
well like personal to the user - liek private stuff sounds like its ok though.. sooo and about the ads behind login - i plan to make some sort of super account for the google bot that would allow access to all pages in throughout the site (i still havent thought of a way to make it secure .. if anybody has any suggestions)
Nope, not very much sense from a contextual stand point. Google uses site's theme to display ads behind a login pages, although not that much targeted.
h-ttp://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=27289&highlight=adsense+behind+login+site well i found that thread... and got here h-ttps://www.gogle.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=10532 but people cant just change their user-agent and theyll have access to everything.. so still doesnt seem like a good solution haha maybe ill just hash all the pm numbers and user refrences i wonder how gmail has ads... haha maybe its really insecure too
