    hello,

(i know, simple, BUT i'm not sure) :)

i just had a website re-designed. the new site was sent to me, and organized into 4 folders...

    FILES, PSD, FONTS, XHTML

can i upload them under "public_html" on my server just like that?? 4 folders.

OR, do i have to "open the folders" so all the files are under the "public_html" root?? I.E. the index file is inside the XHTML folder - can i just upload the folder or does the index file have to be "visible" under the "public_html"??

    THANKS!

This depends on what is called in what parts. You SHOULD put your index.whatever into the public_html, otherwise your host can change your document root to whatever it should be. If you'd like I can take a look at this and help you get squared away.

you need to look at the html of the files, but I bet you need to leave the folders there...

    Thanks guys,

I got in touch with the designer; he said that I only need to upload the XHTML folder files. He did say that I need to OPEN the folder first and upload the individual files, under public_html.

    THANKS AGAIN. :)

If you use a quality FTP program you should be able to just select the folder and move the whole thing over at once.
