You cannot transfer Money to another Persons account irrespective of the last name, The transfer will be rejected by the bank and then you will be levied with a fee for the same, Suggest you to open up a bank account, It would not take much of an effort

Well I think you can do it. PayPal allows you to do that but last name should be the same as what you have in your paypal account. If it is then go ahead and withdraw money.

I would say it depends on the country are in and how strict your bank is. I've done it no problem with more than one account. You need to get the bank account verified first, but generally I haven't had any problems with it or getting someone else's account verified.

Sorry, but you definitely can do this. Only last names have to match. I got 2 bank accounts attached to my PP-account (with 2 different names: I got a first "first" name and a second "first" name and so I have 2 different bank accounts in different names). There is no problem in withdrawing to each of them, although the PP-account of course is just in 1 of these names.

Open up your own account at your local bank, it's free and easy to do. If you do transfer to your moms account it will be reversed and you will be charged $30 by paypal.

    So many people posting advice..

It is 100% dependant on the BANK, NOT PAYPAL. IF the bank rejects the funds as the names do not match, they may send this info back to PayPay who MAY limit your account as a result. In some cases the name need not match at all, in some cases it must match exactly, in others only the surname must match.

    Thanks

@ all people who suggest to open an own bank account: there are many countries where not EVERYONE can get an account as easily as you think. In Germany for example some people won´t get an account.

It depends on your bank's policy. In most parts of the world, the bank which receive money would check against your account number and name before accepting the money into your account.

From what I understand, it is only the banking system in the US which lacks this level of protection and thus open up a loophole which allows bank transfer only based on the account number.

I understand that you are from India and in which case, you should ensure that your name in Paypal matches character for character to that in your bank account.

The only reason why some people are able to get the money without having the name on the account matching that of paypal is due to a lax in security and is not a right.
